About the Founder
From Survivor to Service
The Ribbon & Scrubs Foundation was born from a deeply personal journey.
As a registered nurse and healthcare leader, I have spent much of my life caring for others. But when I was diagnosed with breast cancer, I suddenly found myself on the other side of healthcare—not as the nurse, but as the patient.
Throughout my breast cancer journey, I experienced firsthand how difficult it can be to navigate treatment while continuing to manage the responsibilities of everyday life. Even as a healthcare professional, I found that there were limited resources specifically designed to support frontline healthcare workers facing cancer.
That experience stayed with me.
I knew that if I felt the weight of that journey with my healthcare knowledge and experience, there were other healthcare workers facing similar challenges who needed someone in their corner. I wanted to become the resource I wished I had.
That desire became The Ribbon & Scrubs Foundation—an organization created to provide compassion, support, resources, and hope to frontline healthcare workers affected by cancer.
My journey gave me a new purpose: to care for the caregivers when they need care the most.
